Menominee County Taxpayers Association

Our Mission

Menominee County Taxpayer Association (MCTA) serves and protects the rights and interests of all taxpayers in Menominee County regardless of their ethnic, economic, political or religious backgrounds.

The MCTA board wants to ensure all members – and members of the community at large – are up-to-date on all association activities, legal initiatives, lobbying efforts, and county governance matters.

The MCTA team, which is staffed entirely by volunteers, has spent an untold number hours working to uncover the facts on the serious issues occurring in Menominee County. These issues have been well documented and shared with the community in multiple meetings over the last two years.

The Problem We’re Seeking to Fix:

  • Menominee County (MC) consists of 230,000 acres where 99% of the land is in trust and less than 1% of the land is taxable. Yet this 1% of land covers nearly 100% of property tax costs.
  • Clearly the amount of trust land in Menominee County is unique and unfair for all taxpayers.

Menominee County Taxpayer Association (MCTA) is working to push back against the burden placed on taxpayers in Menominee County. The astounding actions taken by the county board, school board and tribe represent significant issues that require response.

The website will serve as the central hub for all updates and information regarding MCTA.

It will provide secure, password protected content and updates on legal proceedings, and will serve as an easy reference for resources.
